Part-time Food Service (Kitchen) Positions Available

Join our School Nutrition team as a part-time substitute or permanent part-time school kitchen employee.  Starting pay is $18.04 per hour for substitute positions. Permanent part-time positions pay $19.87 per hour in elementary schools and $18.49 per hour in middle and high schools.  As a member of our team, you will assist with food preparation, meal service, cashiering, and kitchen cleanup while helping provide nutritious meals to students each day.

All new employees begin as substitutes at $18.04 per hour while completing their training. Once you are fully trained and a permanent position becomes available, you may be offered a permanent assignment. At that time, your hourly rate will increase to the permanent pay rate for the school where you are assigned. The amount of the increase depends on whether the position is in an elementary, middle, or high school.  We are looking for dependable, team-oriented individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and making a difference for students every day.

This is a 10-month position with no work during the summer. Employees work Monday through Friday and enjoy evenings, weekends, holidays, and school breaks off.
The typical work schedule is 3.75 hours per day, generally between 10:00 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.
Responsibilities include working in a fast-paced school kitchen environment where teamwork and good communication are essential. Candidates must be able to work both independently and as part of a team and be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.  Previous kitchen or food service experience is preferred but not required—we are happy to train the right candidate.
