The Office of Human Capital Development is committed to providing outstanding service to all current and future Newington Public School employees. We achieve this by aligning all of our professional functions to the four Human Capital Leaders in Education (HCLE) Standards: Performance Excellence, Strategic Staffing, Talent Management & Development, and Culture & Total Rewards.  

This program is designed to be a vehicle for continuous systemic and personnel improvement efforts to increase student performance. The overall goal is to make sure that Newington Public Schools has the highest qualified staff to support the needs of all of our students, families, and community.

Combating Harassment and Discrimination:

The Newington Board of Education affirms a continuing policy to maintain a learning and work environment that is free from any form of harassment.  The Board of Education prohibits any form of harassment, including but not limited to sexual harassment, and harassment based on race, color, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, gender, sexual orientation, transgender expression or identify, pregnancy, marital status, parental status, religion, age, disability, past or present service in the uniformed services of the United States, genetic makeup, or any other legally protected basis.  The Board also prohibits discrimination or harassment against any individual based upon that individual's association with an individual in a protected class.  In addition, The Board prohibits any form of harassment against any employee or applicant for employment, or by an employee against anyone, including anyone with whom we do business, or visitors, regardless of whether the victim is a member of a protected class. (Policy #4118.112)
