Note:  Due to a scheduling conflict: Brown v Board of Education In American Society will now be held on Thursday, March 14th and Thursday, March 21st from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Admission

Classes are open to all area residents over the age of sixteen who are no longer in school. All classes are held at the high school unless otherwise noted in the course description. While non-residents are welcome to enroll, Newington residents will be honored first when class size limit has been reached.


Fees

Course fees vary depending on the length and nature of the course. Materials and textbooks needed for each course are extra, unless otherwise stated in the course description. Senior citizens (62+ years old) are entitled to a reduction in course fees. Non-residents will be charged an additional $10.00. No fee is charged to Newington residents enrolled in the Evening High School Diploma Program or state-mandated programs such as: GED, ESL, ABE, and U.S. Citizenship Program.

Inclement Weather

Adult Education classes are automatically canceled whenever regular school classes are canceled. In the event that Adult Education classes are canceled and regular school classes are held, an announcement will be made over WVIT-NBC Connecticut Channel 30.


Proposals for Enrichment Program

Newington Public Schools is currently accepting proposals for enrichment courses for upcoming Continuing Education Program classes. If you have an enrichment program that you would like to offer and are interested in working with adults from the Newington community, please use the link below to submit your proposal information.
