Dear Parents, Guardians, and NPS Colleagues,
I am pleased to inform you that the John Wallace Renovation Project is moving forward. On May
23, the Newington Town Council unanimously passed the 4 motions necessary to allow the
Board of Education to file for a school construction grant for the renovations of John Wallace
Wings 3, 4, and 6. It is important to note that the Town of Newington is eligible to receive a
57.4% reimbursement on all eligible expenditures for this project.
Enclosed below with this letter is an FAQ sheet that highlights the key elements of the project. Feel
free to share this information with anyone who resides in Newington.
The Referendum will go before the voters of Newington on November 7, 2023. If all goes
according to plan, construction will begin in March 2025 and take approximately 18 months to
complete.
