May Students of the Month

Our staff selects students to be recognized as Students of the Month. These students are selected for a variety of reasons including but not limited to, their effort and/or improvement in academics, behavior, or citizenship. Students are recognized with their pictures up on a bulletin board and at a schoolwide assembly for their accomplishments. It is an honor students work hard for. The following students were selected as May’s Students of the Month: Pictured from top left Liam Valladares, Quinn Folmsbee, Devin Ramsey, Evie Navarro, Tyler Ramsey, Valentina Egan, Aria Gallicchio, Sophiya Francis, Parker Bassett, Bianca Macchi, Bennett Jordon, Dylan Rivera, and Ayden Rose (Outstanding Student of the Month).

Out of the selected students we have the difficult task of identifying an Outstanding Student of the Month. This student demonstrates all of the traits and qualities discussed above and has gone above and beyond to showcase his effort and growth.

Our May Outstanding Student of the Month is Ayden Rose. He will be recognized at a special meeting with the Superintendent, his family and me at the end of the month. Congratulations to all of our Students of the Month. We are proud.

Thank You, 4th Graders!
We are so incredibly proud of our fourth-grade students. Your courage to stand on stage and your commitment to learning these pieces shone through in every note. You truly brought the Ruth L. Chaffee spirit to life through your voices!

A huge round of applause to our incredible Newington Artists and our dedicated Elementary Art Extraordinaries—Mrs. Frazao, Mrs. Schumacher, and Mrs. Gajda—for their hard work on this year's Town Wide Art Show!
We are so proud of the creativity and passion our students have poured into their masterpieces. Their talent truly makes our community brighter!

PTA BOGO Book Fair

Our last Scholastic Book Fair of the year will be here Monday 5-18 to Friday 5/22! To volunteer, please sign up here or email Shannon at ssorensen@npsct.org.

May BOGO Book Fair - everything is Buy One Get One Free - books, posters, creative materials, etc. This is a great opportunity to stock up on your student's favorite books for the summer! BOGO matches similar priced items to make it worth every penny, for example:

If your student gets four books for 5.99, 6.99, 12.99 and 14.99, BOGO will pair the two lower prices (5.99 will be free) and the two highest prices (12.99 will be free).

As we have done with the first two book fairs this year, Monday and Tuesday will be days to browse and make a wishlist with their classes during a scheduled time. All classes will have scheduled time to shop Wednesday through Friday.

Family Night is Tuesday, 5/19 from 5:30-7:30pm!
