High School Lunch Price: $3.15

Free or reduced meals are available to eligible students. Federal and state reimbursements and government commodities help to offset the cost of lunches for students. A la carte prices are set to encourage students to buy a lunch, the best nutritional buy. No reimbursement is received for adult lunches, therefore, prices are slightly higher for adults. Prices are set by the Newington Board of Education and are adjusted occasionally to reflect fluctuating costs and federal/state subsidies. The Newington Foods & Nutritional Services Program is non-profit and self-sustaining.

Elementary and middle school students that do not bring a lunch or have inadequate money/no money for lunch can borrow money from the school’s main office. Payment is expected the next day. Borrowing money should be for emergency purposes only.

High school students who do not bring a lunch or have inadequate money/no money for lunch will
not be allowed to charge a school meal.

A La Carte Items

In addition to the lunch choices, a number of snack items, such as cookies, ice cream, and chips are available depending on the school. Healthier snack choices such as fresh fruit and vegetables, low-fat cheese sticks, yogurt, and milk are also available daily to purchase a la carte. These snack items are intended to supplement and not to replace meal choices, we encourage children to choose from the many meals available.

Please note: Parents/Guardians wishing to limit or prevent a la carte purchases can set spending limits through ezschoolpay.com. Cashiers do not have access to setup spending limits when deposits are received at the school.
